Noah’s Ark

Noahs Arc Toy

Noah’s ark toys have been popular since the 1700’s. They were most popular in the 1800s when they were given to children to use as “Sunday toys” and used only on the Christian Sabbath.

This example was donated to the Society by Danvers resident Allen Goodnow, who played with it as a child. It has hand painted windows, a dove resting on the roof and a few of the many animals that made up the set.
