Introduction
The
DHS maintains three historic properties: the Page House, Putnam
House
and Glen Magna Farms. The latter is a turn of the century country
estate
surrounded by a number of garden rooms, which are being restored
to their
appearance in the 1920s. The Page House served as the first headquarters
for
the DHS. The Putnam House has been closely identified with General
Israel
Putnam, a hero of the Battle of Bunker Hill.
In
addition, the historical society owns Tapley Memorial Hall, which
houses
our collections and provides a wonderful exhibition hall.
